Madskillz Real Deal Coach Jarlyn Matthews
Coach Jarlyn Mathews….Madskillz Real Deal. Coach Jarlyn played college lacrosse at division 3 Hartwick college in Oneonta, NY. After her collegiate lacrosse years, Coach Jarlyn spent the two years as the assistant women’s lacrosse coach at Springfield College, MA. Her love for coaching girl’s lacrosse brought her to Norwalk High school for 5 years. Coach Jarlyn currently is sharing her knowledge and love of the game at Spanish River High School where she has served as the Head girl’s lacrosse coach for the past 10 seasons. Coach Jarlyn has continued to coach for so long because she absolutely loves lacrosse. Over the past 2 decades of coaching, she has seen the game change in so many ways. Today, the girl’s lacrosse game is super fast, dynamic and powerful. Coach Jarlyn enjoys watching the young players develop into high level lax players. She enjoys how lacrosse is a team sport and the girls have to work together. Most importantly she loves seeing the players build friendships that last for a lifetime. The lacrosse family is a wonderful community. We are thrilled to have Coach Jarlyn as part of our family coaching the Madskillz Real Deal team which consists of girls from the 2028, 2029 and 2030 graduating classes.!
Coach Dante Valdivieso
COACH DANTE VALDIVIESO and his beautiful wife, Cheri,help Coach Mathews with the young and talented Real Deal team. Coach Dante and Cheri have spent years on the lacrosse field with their own daughters. They bring passion, fundamentals and fun to the Real Deal players.
Coach Steve Virtue and Coach Lindsay Sanchez
Coach Steve and Coach Lindsay are leading our newest team of girls from the graduating class of 2027. These girls will play together for the next six years as they pursue higher level lacrosse skills and many will go on to play in college.
Coach Jaycee Engelhard
Coach Jaycee Engelhard is a division one commit to the University of Cincinnati. She has been with the Madskillz/Florida Select program since it’s inception. She is a high school US Lacrosse All American and has ranked in the top five in scoring in the state of Florida every year of her high school career. Jaycee is pumped to help coach the Real Deal players and learn to play and work hard to be the best they can be.!
Coach Haelle Chomo
style=”text-align: justify;”>Coach Haelle Chomo is our Madskillz and Florida Select Goalie Coach. Yes – This program has a dedicated Goalie Coach. Coach Haelle was a standout goalie at Georgetown University. She had one of the lowest amounts of goals scored on her in the Big East. She is quick, smart and has a vast knowledge of the game. She loves lacrosse and helping the next generation of goalies learn the craft that she has great expertise in.!
Coach Darcy Messina
Coach Darcy Messina spent her younger years on the Long Island Yellow Jackets club playing under Carol Rose. Coach Darcy went on to play collegiately at the University of Florida. Coach Darcy has a long list of awards and accolades to her name. She is the head coach at St. Andrews school and an amazing coach for the young lacrosse players to learn from! The 2026 team will learn not just how to play the game from Coach Darcy but she will also teach them how to grow their lax IQ.
Coach Kylie Hazen
“>Coach Kylie is a freshman on the lacrosse team at Georgetown University in DC. Coach John McClain fondly tells younger players about how Coach Kylie’s hard work and discipline took her from a bench player to one of the top attackers in the country.Coach Kyle works on her skills everyday. Her hard work provides her with confidence. The 2026 team is blessed to have Coach Kylie helping Coach Darcy teaching the girls how to develop Madskillz.
Coach Hayley Norris
Coach Hayley Norris was a standout defender in high school and at High Point University. She joins the madskillz coaching staff to develop those young defenders who love playing D. Defense wins championships. Madskillz program is so blessed to have Hayley showing our players the A, B, Cs of defense and helping all the players learn the fundamentals of defense because everyone will be playing defense at some point in the game.
Coach John McClain
Coach John McClain…Director of Madskillz & Florida Select…Coach of the Madskillz 2025 team…Coach of the Florida Select 2021 team…head lacrosse coach at American Heritage Boca Delray 2018 State Champions… Coach John grew up in East Islip on Long Island and transitioned from baseball into the game of lacrosse his Junior Year in High School. He grabbed All County Honors his Senior Year in Lacrosse. He decided to attend The United States Merchant Marine Academy for college where he was a four sport athlete. He played Varsity Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, and Lacrosse.
Coach John is in the top 5 All-Time leading scorers in the Academy’s History with a total of 141 goals. His junior and senior year he was one of the top midfield scorers in the country in Division I and Division III. He was the first Academy graduate to be chosen to go to the prestigious North- South All-Star Game his Senior Year where he was coached by Hall of Famer Bill Tierney. Coach Goldberg invited Coach John to be an Assistant Coach at St. Andrews in 2003. Coach John assisted Coach Goldberg and helped take down 3 Florida FHSAA State Championships. Through his years of coaching, he has helped many All Americans and great players that went onto schools like UNC, Denver, Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, Michigan, Stevens Tech, Virginia, Navy, West Point, and Bucknell. Coach John decided to coach his daughter’s recreation league and the rest is history. He has immersed himself in the girl’s lacrosse game. Presently in the last ten years he has coached over 1000 Girl’s Lacrosse Games for Travel/Rec/High School. Here are Coach John’s accolades:

Coach Taylor McClain
Coach Taylor McClain is one of the top lacrosse players in the country. She is committed to Bucknell University! Taylor knows lacrosse and has grown up around the sport. She is a an amazing offensive weapon and likes to help the younger players learn and grow into the best players that they can be!
Coach Lauren Figas
Coach Lauren Figas….. Coach Lauren will play Division 1 lacrosse at the University of Louiseville after graduating in 2021. Lauren is an old timer in MADSKILLZ program. She’s fast and brings an energetic attitude to the young players whom she enjoys coaching.
